I had the opportunity to finally watch this incredible group of teens in March at the Professional Deaf and Hard of Hearing Annual Convention. The teens danced with grace, skill and enthusiasm. They signed the words to the songs and laughed along. They were so enjoying themselves.
Is this just a "fun club"? Nope,it is a whole lot more. These teens and their advisors (and parents, I am sure)travel the state to educate. They are sporting shirts that say, "Dance, Teach and Inspire." Their mission is to show hearing kids that deaf kids CAN do anything hearing kids can do, except hear. They are out there inspiring kids with hearing loss that they CAN do anything that they want, except hear. They are out there exposing kids to American Sign Language and deaf children.
