When I see little buds blooming through the near frozen ground, I am reminded that there is always reason to hope. No matter what the negatives bring, the good is always around the corner. This year, perhaps my laziness in cleaning out the garden at the end of fall was a positive, because the extra leaves kept the flower beds warm during this extreme frost. During the few days we have had above freezing, my little buds decided it was time to grow. They don't care about the weather or the snow-the have an internal calendar. Spring has sprung,, and so have they.
My mom, who some of you know has Alzheimer's, is moving to a new assisted living next week. It has been a long time coming. She has been unhappy in her current place and we have looked and searched for what seems like ages.. It is finally time for her spot to be free at the new place. Again, new beginnings and new hope.
We are so busy and hurried, especially around holidays and as the year winds down. Please be sure to stop and literally smell the flowers, smile at the geese as they return, and most of all, take time to hope. Remember that good is just a step away and that the drab and dreary always melts away to wonderful bright joy.
Have a blessed Passover, Easter or just spring;)
