It is a leap of faith, because I hope I am making the right decision. Our parents care for us and make decisions for us as we grow up. As they get older, our roles reverse and we are their care givers. We are their decision makers. I could have said,"no". Many people told me to keep her where she is. They said she would never be happy anywhere.
We are moving tomorrow with hope in our hearts. I hope she can find new friends, learn her way around a new facility, feel settled, and find happiness. If not, we know we did the very best we could and looked at every solution.
I believe you can't live your life with regrets. You can't make rash or foolish decisions, either, but I think you need to be sure to think, pray, think, pray and go for it. If it feels like it is the right thing to do, trust in yourself and have hope and faith!
Asking for special thoughts and prayers for us this weekend as we take this journey together. It is a rough one, but I truly am blessed I am able to be on it with her. I will be sleeping over in her new pad :) Old time girls' sleep over party!
