How many of you like to exercise the mind of your kids during the summer months? I'm not saying making them have a summer school type class at home. How many of you have your kids read during their break? Well I fully supporting any type of activities that helps expand the mind of a child. It is even good for us adults to exercise our mind. The biggest thing is you need help make reading fun otherwise some kids may think it as being summer homework. If you make it fun more kids are willing to read. Of course some kids just naturally believe reading is fun.
Now what books should you read? Really you should try to find books that follow what kids may be interested in or something you would like them to learn from. The list and link I have below has a main focus of deafness. There are so many other great books out there too. That Deaf Guy is a comic strip that involves a Deaf Dad, a hearing mom, and hearing Son. This is a great strip that will talk about different situation this family confronts with the deafness of their the dad. It is a very funny strip that would be great for the family to enjoy together.

Reading with your kids could create great memories. Take a moment out of each day to enjoy some reading time. If you would like for kids to enjoy a story time with others there are also many libraries out there that have a story time. Go to your local library to see if that is available!
