Even as an adult for a long time I had no desire to read a book in my free time. I caught myself buying books that I wanted to read, but again never got around to reading them. I figured I would rather watch a movie than read. Well honestly I still would rather watch a movie than read, BUT I have finally reached the point where I enjoy reading in my spare time. If you would have told a younger version of myself that one day I would enjoy reading, I wouldn’t have believed you.
I believe the biggest thing about reading is finding what interests you the most. There are some people that truly enjoy reality in nonfiction and others would prefer to get lost in another world through reading. I am curious to know what genre of books the viewers enjoy. I never ever thought I would say this but I believe my eclectic taste I have for music is the same for books. I can find little topics in all genres that I enjoy. I’m so thankful for the open mind I have and happy that I can finally enjoy the creativity that others share through their writings.
While creating this blog, I thought it would be great to develop some type of book club. I believe that through sharing the experience of reading the same novel with others we could have great discussions about the topic of the books. This blog entry is an introduction to the Insight Variety Book Club
The last blog of each month I will summarize, give my opinion, and develop a discussion about the previous month’s book selection. In return, the people participating in the book club will give their thoughts in the comments below. At the end of month on that same blog entry, I will then post what the next book selection will be for the following month.
If you have a question and/or just need clarification on how this works please leave a comment below. In addition, if you have a book you would like the book club to read and review please let me know in the comments below or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. My hope is that in this book club we will develop great topics that have the potential for others to learn something from. In addition the books can be about anything: deafness, technology, history, life, celebrities, mystery, science fiction, etc. Please spread the word about this book club so it can be more interesting and a success.
Let the book clubbing begin!
